Shenda Evans

Environmental and Licensing Professionals Pty Ltd (“ELP”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Shenda Evans to the ELP team, as Senior Consultant – Native Title.  Shenda commenced her services with ELP on 25 January 2010.

 

Shenda is an Indigenous woman from the Wakamin group near Chillagoe in Far North Queensland.  Shenda has many years experience dealing with Native Title and the Resources industry, and joins ELP from the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation, where she worked in various native title-related roles.

 

Previous to this, Shenda came from the Department of Infrastructure where she assisted in the coordination of the Environmental Impact Statement process for Major Projects.

 

Shenda also worked at the Cape York Land Council for a number of years where she had the carriage of future act negotiations, as well as dealing with complex land matters affecting the rights and interests of native title holders.

 

Shenda joins ELP’s Native Title and Cultural Heritage team, headed by James Sunter, Group Manager – Licensing, and her skills and experience offers our clients greater depth and awareness in terms of their native title and cultural heritage responsibilities and duty of care.
